Day 16: Losing motivation

I don't know if it's me but I have the impression that after the Japanese disaster my fellow PCPers are losing motivation. I understand that for many of you who are based in Tokyo it must be a very hard time but what about the rest of you guys? No more questions, no more comments...
When I first wanted to join the program I asked Patrick if I could avoid blogging, taking pics etc...
He told me that in that case PCP wasn't good for me because the strength of the project is the group motivation, pressure and the feeling of not being alone in this.
Now I understand why.
I feel there's a slack of motivation around and it's definitely affecting me as well!
Also, leaving the office late complete spoiled my PCP routine and now it's 9.30pm and I haven't started my exercises yet, have no food ready for tomorrow and the only thing I can think of is my bed!!!
Need some help here!
Will report my failure or success later...
Cheers xx

  1. Hang in there Arianna!
A lot of us are very much motivated to keep going. I can understand that for the guys in Japan things might just be a bit crazy... but over here life still goes on, we're two weeks down already and you are getting fitter. Don't give up!

  2. don't worry, i think a lot of people are feeling like it's tough going and where only just getting started. reckon we just need to enter into a zombie-like state and keep going without thinking too much about it - the results should come along soon enough, so keep it up!

  3. dont worry about that and what other people are doing. keep it going yourself. keep encouraging other people. everyone will have good days and bad days of 90 and you will all get through it. blogging really really helps and the more you say and the more honest you are the better. going well!

Just finished all the exercises and feeling much better already!
Only had a small accident with the rubber band which detached from the door while I was rowing and hit my belly. Lucky enough abs are geeting stronger already and I got away with a big red mark of the door anchor on my belly.
haha tomo is a brand new day!

  5. Motivation will come and go, especially at this weird time in the world. BUT, here's the key, THE PCP IS NOT ABOUT MOTIVATION. Whether you feel like it or not, whether you're in a good mood or not, whether you're motivated or not, YOU DO IT ANYWAY. Consistently applying this do it anyway approach will mean motivation becomes a non-issue, especially as your body starts rewarding you for your efforts.

  6. Hi Arianna,

I kinda second what everyone is saying - I think I read a lot of motivation from the majority of folks and they are all having similar challenges..

I think Patrick is right, you only get out what you put in, so perhaps you can write more, blog more, post up your photos and really commit yourself - for yourself... Everyone is doing this and you might just be suprised with what comes of it!

Hope you hang in there and kick this thing ...

    All the best...

  7. Yeah, just keep doing things whether you feel motivated or not. Generally feelings follow action, so just 'act like a motivated person'. Gambatte!
